OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
Travel Mugs
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
My drink is not staying hot, what is wrong with my mug?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • OXO liquiseal travel mugs have been designed for use with hot or cold liquids whilst drinking on the go as opposed to thermos flasks/mugs which are designed to hold liquid for a period of time (generally hours). We do recommend that you pre-warm your mug prior to filling with your chosen hot beverage. This can be done easily by filling with freshly boiled water, reaffixing the lid and leaving to warm the mug for a minute or two. Even with pre-warming your liquid will start to lose its heat from the offset and will continue to do so (please see estimated temperature losses/gains);

    Start - HOT 97° - COLD 2°
    30 mins - HOT 75° - COLD 7°
    60 mins - HOT 61° - COLD 11°
    90 mins - HOT 51° - COLD 15°
    120 mins - HOT 44° - COLD 17°

How do I clean my travel mug?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • As coffees, teas and creamers are oil-based products, it is necessary to use dish soap to remove any residues. When cleaning the lid, please ensure that the button is in the open position. You can soak and run warm, mild soapy water through it, followed by a thorough rinsing with pressurized water from your tap. You may also cleanse with diluted vinegar if you prefer. We suggest that you wash daily after each use.

If the contents or residue have been left in the OXO Travel Mug for a longer period of time, without the daily suggested maintenance, the cleaning time will increase. To prevent odors, it is necessary to cleanse the mug as soon as the mug is emptied of its contents, as storing a sealed mug with leftover drinks for extended time may trap unpleasant smells such as soured creamer, etc. Please also ensure that your lid is allowed to thoroughly air dry with the button in the open position before storing your product.

Storage & Organisation:

OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
POP Containers
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
How long is food kept fresh for?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • We are unable to advise how long food will stay fresh in our POP containers as there are so many variables (type of food, brand of food, fresh/processed, how many times the container is opened, etc.)

Are the containers freezable?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • The container is safe to freeze however the lid may rise slightly.

Are the containers watertight?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • Our silicone gasket and lid prevent the transfer of air from the outside to the inside and vice versa. Our containers are not designed to be water tight. Water has weight, so if someone fills a POP container with water and turns it over the weight of the water will push the gasket and break the seal. So the difference is that we are not designing a container to work with the forces of water, just air.

Kitchen Storage
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon

OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon

These products are much larger and weightier than the ones used here in the UK.

Greensaver
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
How much longer does the Greensaver range of products keep food fresh for?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • The Greensaver range prolongs the life of produce. However, as there are many variables that affect ripening such as we are unable to control many of the shipping and storage factors that happen before the produce reaches your home ( how ripe the produce is when you purchased it, or if the produce spent a long time on the store shelves) we cannot specify the timescale per individual fruit or vegetable.

OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
My tray has stained, how can I remove the stain?
OXO Frequently Asked Question Arrow Icon
  • Concentrated dish soap is helpful to break down the oils found in many foods. For best results on tough stains, leave the dish detergent on the stains overnight. We also found that a non-toxic cleaner of vinegar and baking soda can help reduce stains. If using vinegar and baking soda paste, pour directly on the affected area and scrub the area with a soft brush or sponge. Let stand on the area and scrub again. Repeat if necessary. Please keep in mind that hard bristled and wire brushes may scratch the surface of the tray. Do not submerge the tray in water as this will allow water to enter inside the tray and may cause mold and bacteria to form.

  • The Sprout legs are made from birch plywood. Our birch plywood is an engineered wood, which provides strength advantages over solid wood. Every layer of our wood is made from birch, a premium hardwood, whereas normal plywood is typically made of cheaper soft wood on the inside with a premium wood on the outer layers. The advantage of using plywood is that the grain direction is glued together in an alternating pattern, giving strength to the wood in both directions. It is also lighter for easier positioning, stronger gives longevity & durability, more flexible so temperature change in the home is ideal & screws don't need re-tightening along with the flexible fittings.
